New Research: Dr. Harrison Wright and Kentville Research and Development Centre at ICCWS 2026

Research Updates from Dr. Harrison Wright and the KRDC Team at ICCWS New Zealand 2026

Harrison Wright, Jeff Franklin, Shawna MacKinnon, Conny Bishop, Matt O'Hara, Ian Willick (Kentville Research and Development Centre, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Kentville NS)

At the 2026 edition of the International Cool Climate Wine Symposium (ICCWS), held in late January 2026 in Christchurch, New Zealand, Dr. Harrison Wright provided two different research updates to the international grape and wine community. The first was a talk titled Common Viruses in Interspecific Hybrid Grapes Behave Differently, and the second was a poster called Cool Climate Viticulture: The Implications of Letting Your Grapes Hang. Harrison has graciously provided CGCN with PDF versions of both of these items so that they can be shared with the broader Canadian grape and wine industry!

This research was funded in part by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture (NSDA), and the Grape Growers' Association of Nova Scotia (GGANS).
